You can't see me clearly, I'm a blur Moving so quickly between the lines when I'm breakin' out all my nouns and verbs you can't see me clearly I'm a blur and until you match my speed you won't see me anymore I, I'm breaking sound barriers I, I'm breaking sound I know I'm leaving you in the dust, but darling I've had enough so I, I'm breaking sound barriers Well I'm kickin' my six-speed, no reverse and if you stop I'll go if you brake I know that you never really had me first I, I'm breaking sound barriers I, I'm breaking sound I know I'm leaving you in the dust, but darling I've had enough so I, I'm breaking sound barriers I'm breaking all your laws I'm running fast I'm driving past your spike strips and your crawl I'm Cassidy You'll never catch me I, I'm breaking sound barriers I, I'm breaking sound I know I'm leaving you in the dust, but darling I've had enough so I, I'm breaking sound barriers I, I'm breaking sound I know I'm leaving you in the dust, but darling I've had enough so I, I'm breaking sound barriers

Take my hand in yours we’re going down to the floor Gonna teach an old dance break all the rules So put your feet on mine we’re going back in time Gonna dance away like it’s 1932 And it’s okay if you fall, Cause I’ll catch you then we’ll sway like it’s love And all the lights are dimmed, and their backing away, yeah they’ve misplaced their speech and they’re giving us space. While we spin, oh yeah we’re going to spin So raise your glass of your whiskey’s and your gin So they called us classy yeah they called us hipsters cause we wear our glasses and we think it’s cool So you straighten my bowtie while I snap on suspenders cause that’s what we do when we make our rendezvous While we spin, oh yeah we’re going to spin So raise your glass of your whiskeys and your gin Then we’re gonna sway, gonna sway the night away So raise your glass to the Speakeasy Age So take a bow we’re standing out tonight When all we do is dance in black and white And your twirling dress, slow motion in their eyes So take a bow we’re standing out tonight

I know you're gone. You're not coming back, it's been way too long. And as pages have turned and stages I've learned, that there ain't no return to a book that's been burned. But I know, don't have to tell me twice. I'm just missing the warmth at my side. Cause I miss you. Oh I miss you. It's been years since I've laughed unrestrained. Oh I miss you. Yeah, I miss you. The silence is wrong and it’s strange. Please come back. But I know. You fell. Happened so quickly, before I could say, "Farewell." And the call I received brought me down on my knees as I begged and I plead, "Please. Please don't leave me." Cause I miss you. Oh I miss you. It's been years since I've laughed unrestrained. Oh I miss you. Yeah, I miss you. The silence is wrong and it’s strange. Please come back. Oh my God, they're gone; all of the simple smiles and love live seems to cost. Oh your eyes, they've gone cold with frost as your fluttering heart beats a flattened line across. Cause I miss you. Oh I miss you. It's been years since I've laughed unrestrained. Oh I miss you. Yeah, I miss you. The silence is wrong and it’s strange. Please come back.

For so long I thought I'd be the same Never grow up, never fade We lived by the rules our parents made Their command crashed when we took the stage Subject to change Subject to change Subject to change Subject to change Open your eyes, I know it's tough Look past the hate and find the love You called it wrong cause you don't understand Well call me crazy, i'm confused cause you preach acceptance Turn around and spit lies and judgements We're losing love and you’re the one to blame I think we're all a little Subject to change Subject to change Subject to change Subject to change Are the ones who can't see the good holding signs for the end of the world Eye are blind, picket cardboard signs, screaming Armageddon.

You and I, we stand on ghosts of trees Another forest has thrown his life to sheets and pure as plain and clean as white paper can be oh take your pencil draw what you think of me Sure we've had an argument or two But that don't change that I still care for you And I know I could never change your mind, you're free. I know what you think of me And life, dies for life Before you could say hello you said goodbye And though the past has hurt you, I am here, you see I'll change what you think of me And though the trees have fallen and the birds of tears are calling it'd be white blank paper gone to waste So use your favorite colors and just show me how you suffered But, I just want a drawing you could erase And life, it dies for life Before you could say hello you said goodbye And though the past has hurt you, I am here, you see I'll change what you think of me Oh doodle down don't care if it's perfect, spread the lead around I need relief I've spent way too long just trying to esteem

I got lost I fear, but folded maps and stars won't take me there. I set sail and the skies are clear, but compasses don't point to you, my dear. And though I don't who you are I'm rushing wildly, directly to your open arms. And if you could find me a home and keep me safe I'll find you faith. Tied to the train tracks of life. Tried to run but the ropes are tied too tight. So I'm just waiting here to die. Sure do wish you were here by my side. And though I don't who you are I'm rushing wildly, directly to your open arms. And if you could find me a home and keep me safe I'll find you faith. Sure, I am scared right out my mind my floors been worn from praying here. I don't want to let it go, my nerves say "overcome your fears." And though I don't who you are I'm rushing wildly, directly to your open arms. And if you could find me a home and keep me safe I'll find you faith.

Oh bird of flight I would never clip your wings just to teach you to fly it just ain't right, and the people that do how they sleep at night just blows my mind, cause if I was eating I would lose my appetite Oh sailboat sail, with the wind on your back, you will float here and there but if winds do fail, on a blustery day, you won't sink with the whales the boat's not frail, rocking to and fro like a breath is exhaled I'm sure you know what I mean, need stick together I'll be the threads you be the seams oh we'd make a great team just grab ahold my hand start following trust me, just trust me oh and dogs alone, nothings gonna go anywhere when you howl at the moon it's bright and blue, a million miles away, doesn't care about you so change your tune, sing a simple song and the dogs will come to you
8.
The clock is fading I'm tired of waiting for you to meet me halfway My legs are pacing They've lost their patience, listening for you to say That I, I love you but at this rate that's never gonna come. So girl, make up your mind, cause I'd rather you say, "no" than lead me on. Now your intentions are hid by actions but I can tell the words they say are lies, but you've forgotten, You've lost your lovin' and I'd hate for you to prove to me I'm right. That I, I love you but at this rate that's never gonna come. So girl, make up your mind, cause I'd rather you say, "no" than lead me on. Now the summer brought your song to my ears and the bright and vivid fall sings the colors that your hear and the winter's just keeping everything cool while the springtime's bringing me back to you That I, I love you but at this rate that's never gonna come. So girl, make up your mind, cause I'd rather you say, "no" cause I'd rather you say, "no" cause I'd rather you say, "no" than lead me on.

about

This album is a whole new bag of tricks for me. With "Love Too Soon" being the most loved song (seemingly), I wanted to take the new album in that direction without dropping what made the other songs so special. The album opens powerfully with a wall of sound; "Sound Barriers," the song that named the album. Then with a taste of "Taylor Ogburn EP," "Spin" is a fun song encouraging whimsical swing dancing and nostalgia to a time before most of us were alive. With a jump forward, "Please Come Back" tips it's hat to the 80's with a hard driving beat and feel not-too-distant from a classic power-ballad. "Subject To Change" comes in with meaning, brilliant harmonies, and a ending that is reminiscent of classic Coldplay. Then the album takes a whole new direction into four live acoustic songs. "Draw What You Think," "Find You Faith," "Bird of Flight," and "Rather You Say No" are all performed as if I was in your living room. Just me, my guitar, and a mic. Simple. I hope you all enjoy this album as much as I do. It was a blast to make. Thanks!
